WELCOME SPONGERS, 

The Tarpon Springs For Youth, Inc., “Spongers” is a member of the Suncoast Youth Football Conference (SYFC) who is responsible for approximately 5,000 Pinellas and Pasco County children.  We, as “Sponger” parents and specifically the Board of Directors are responsible for the enforcement of SYFC regulations and for the government of our own teams in the high standards we require of our participants.  An organizational chart is included within this handbook for your reference.  Questions or problems that you might have should be referred to the proper authority that you can quickly identify by familiarizing yourself with the Organizational Chart.

In addition to our traditional contact football and cheerleading programs, Flag football and cheerleading are available.  This program is a non-competitive instructional program designed to provide an introduction into organized team sports, teach the basics of football and cheerleading, good sportsmanship, respect and build self-esteem.It is our very sincere hope that participation in the Tarpon Springs “Spongers” will be a rewarding family experience.  The Tarpon Springs “Spongers” invite you, the parent, to take an active part in watching your child become a more confident outgoing and more mature individual through a very intensive team effort.
